Navaratri
(Sanskrit: Nine Nights)
This is a beautiful and powerful time dedicated to Divine Mother!
For many people it is a time of spiritual reflection and fasting, while for others it is a time for dancing and feasting. Typically, the festival’s nine nights are dedicated to different aspects of the divine feminine principle, or shakti. While the pattern varies somewhat by region, generally the first third of the festival focuses on aspects of the goddess Durga, the second third on the goddess Lakshmi, and the final third on the goddess Saraswati. Offerings are often made to the goddesses and their various aspects, and rituals are performed in their honor. This is a time of celebrating victory goodness and light!
Sadhana
(Daily Spiritual Practice )
Participate in a group, guided (virtual) spiritual practice honoring Navaratri.
Maybe you already have a Sadhana, or perhaps you are looking to add one, deepen your practice, or participate in the ritual of Navaratri. We have found the power of community to be an amazing way to practice.
Merry will guide us in a morning Sadhana including: Aarti (offering light) Kirtan (devotional singing) and Japa Meditation (repetition of specific mantras relating to the Goddesses Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati )
Ayurveda Cleanse & Nourish
Ayurveda recommends cleansing between each season to rid the body of any excess. Unlike other cleanses or fasts that deplete the body, Ayurveda teaches us how to Nourish and Detox the body, both safely and gently. All while eating delicious food! (Yes, you will be eating!)
Why Cleanse?
Benefits:
The main aim is to increase & improve the Agni (digestive fire). This is the main physical requirement for good health.
To rid the body of excess doshas from the previous season. In the summer, we accumulate excess heat (Pitta), so in the fall we cleanse that excess to be sure it doesn’t get trapped in the body during winter.
To rid the body of crude ama (undigested food) before it becomes amavisha (acidic deeper level of toxin when ama is not removed).
This process not only happens on the physical level of the body (the dhatus: plasma, blood, muscle, fat, bone, nerves, & reproductive system) , but on the mental and emotional levels as well. Naturally with the physical detox, we begin to cleanse on the emotional and mental levels as well.
“Our bodies are divine vehicles that need seasonal maintenance to properly run. When the body is thrown out of balance because of a crazy schedule, harsh diet, or emotional challenges, the digestive system is compromised and toxins called ama are produced. Without this timely purification, all sorts of symptoms can set in. For example, fatigue, headaches, skin problems, colds, allergies, mental fog, muscular aches, and depression.”

What Will I be Eating?
During this cleanse you will be following a Shaka Vansia Ayurvedic (SVA) Diet, which is both tridoshic (good for all constitutions) and alkalinizing! This clean diet includes lots of veggies that are detoxifying for the liver, kidneys, blood etc. Grains that are nourishing & bind with the toxins helping them exit the system. Although Ayurveda doesn't recommend snacking, there are even some fruits, beverages, and treats you can enjoy to help through any cravings!
Recipes and meal plans will be provided. You can take this at your own pace. Some may choose to go all in and follow this 100%. Others may not, that’s ok!
Daily 30 min virtual sadhana followed by Q&A, check in, support with the cleanse, and Satsang (community) connection.
*All will be recorded and available shortly after the live session. There’s no obligation to join live, the whole program can be followed at your own time and pace.

I enjoyed this whole process. My favorite part was the consistency of spiritual sadhana and is something I will definitely be taking away from these 10 days. I am also so proud of myself for being better with my habits based on ayurveda suggestions.
-JanaOne of the biggest takeaways for me was this helping me establish a morning routine. This was such a beautiful way to start with warm water first thing in the morning, abhyanga. All of it gave a ceremony/ritual to the day and how to get here to my altar.
-JaneneI am grateful to have the group support through the cleanse. I loved bringing in the whole contemplation, worship, acknowledgment of the Divine Mother. It really brought this experience to a whole other level for me. I feel really nourished!
-MichelleI love every moment of this, making Divine Mother devotion the center of everything was my biggest take away. I love aarti to Ma and will for sure be a daily ritual I continue. The cooking has been really really beautiful. I can taste and feel the difference between the fresh food vs. left over or processed. I look forward to taking my mindfulness and devotion to Ma deeply into the kitchen and not eating a lot before bed. It feels different and changes my energy. Thank you Megg and Merry for holding this beautiful space.
-ArielleI really enjoyed spending the last 9 days together celebrating Divine Mother. The last 3 days with Durga's energy got the inner strength to come out to overcome the cravings and things we have relationships with. Then moving into Lakshmi's energy of feeling the goddess within. The way it transmuted into Saraswati energy clarity and creative outlets. I feel so good and clear moving forward.
-AshleyWhat I liked most about this was community. I'm a very introverted soul. This brought out the desire in me to bring this into everything I do. Eating more simply, taking out processed foods. I have an altar in my yoga space and changing it to be more centered in Ma was a beautiful essence. I don't even have words for it. I didnt even think about changing the theme of my space. I'm going to leave it in this essence and devotion to Ma for a while and work with that energy. So grateful for you all.
-AezanaWhat I enjoyed the most was the community and coming back into my spiritual practice. I have felt really disconnected this past year has been really hard for me. I lost a lot of this practice during my pregnancy. I made this cleanse my own and took the parts that worked for me at this moment in my life. It felt good knowing this is the beginning of me going back into my yoga/spiritual practice and connection with food with which I have felt lost for awhile. I connected a lot with my heart center the past 10 days, everytime we did sadhana, I took that time to honor myself as a divine mother to my children that I don't ever give myself. It's been amazing to be here almost every morning bc i dont get much time for myself. Thank you Merry and Megg for helping open this part of my heart again.
-SashaThis deeply powerful, wholesome and nourishing experience came to my awareness at exactly the right time. Building on my prior knowledge of the yogic path, I was able to slow down in a way I haven't since postpartum Motherhood. I'm deeply grateful for this opportunity to witness myself, dancing with the dark+light Goddess ain't easy! Coming home to Jai Ma and the sweet container of Navaratri Nourish sisterhood offered the support I needed to heal and clear my body in a way I simply didn't know that I needed. This process afforded space to reflect and reclaim my personal worthiness... shamelessly celebrating the divine feminine for my whole ancestral lineage. It wasn't easy and I never could have done this without the embodied, subtle, compassionate female leadership of Merry and Megan. I not only have a reset baseline for my physical vitality, I have a cupboard of bangin' dry goods and a whole new flavor palette to work with in the kitchen. Jai Ma!
-KatieI loved all of it. Especially the mornings to get up and connect with everyone and light my candle. The chanting was so powerful. Getting back into my routines, regular habits, because we get busy & can reach for convenience like the frozen foods etc. But now I am cooking everything from scratch, chopping everything up and feeling the earth as I'm touching and handling these fruits and vegetables. The first few days of giving up coffee I felt a little edgy and snappy but after day 4 I felt like I was coming out of the clouds and things looked brighter, I felt new and lighter. I didn't realize a cup of coffee a day could impact me that much. I feel better and want to continue.
-RebeccaI have a Bhakti practice and that is something that's in my life & it was so sweet to practice this together, but the food issue is what I struggle with. It has been really really good to know that I can give up anything that’s processed, sugar, bread. And that I can continue to do that. I feel amazing!
